live-breed butterflies from the Arabuko Sokoke Forest and sell the pupae to Kipepeo Butterfly farm, mainly
aimed at giving the forest edge communities opportune to get an income directly from the forest. The farm then produces butterflies for the international market.
The project has led to a numerous increase in household income in those households participating in the project and since butterflies are short lived and hard to breed abroad,
