Tamarind Dhow is allocated on the North Coast, 8kms from most North Coast Hotels & 40 kms from Diani.It’s a night cruise on the Tudor channel. The romantic dinner aboard the dhow constitutes of seafood (grilled lobster, prawns, etc) and sizzling steak on a flaming coal grill or buffet as per request. The famous Tamarind cocktail “Dawa” will sweep you of your feet made from Vodka, Lime, Honey & crushed ice. As the dhow sails gently away the resident band start to play.

Beyond the restaurant a promontory known as the English Point, marked now by cement silos, which in the last century became spot for their first ‘colony’ of liberated slaves established by the ‘English’. There is also a memorial to the celebrated missionary Ludwig von and his wife whose graves lie here
This cruise along the Tudor Creek gives a splendid view of Mombasa’s Old Town and Fort Jesus, the resident’s live band’s music swaying swiftly, playing a variety of popular songs that will have you dancing on the main deck. This tour is ideal for honeymooners, romantics, anniversaries and small close groups. Enjoy your four seafood dinner course meal. The Dhow will slowly sail back to base and you will be returned to your Mombasa hotel.

WASINI ISLAND DHOW SAFARISDeparting North Coast Hotel at 0600Hrs and South Coast Hotel at 0630 HrsWasini Island is allocated 45kms south of Diani in Shimoni. Welcome aboard the dhow from the Shimoni close to Tanzanian border and sail to Kisite –Mpunguti Marine National Park and Reserve. It’s one of the most popular coastal sea and land excursions. We commence our sail early before low tide…….. You will have the chance to snorkel using the masks & snorkels provided on the dhow. Glass -bottom viewing is available to the Kenya’s outstanding underwater world. You will also have the chance to view Dolphins and Coconut crabs. Our famous dhow famous lunch that includes Whole Crab steamed in Ginger is served on Wasini Island. After lunch we have a guided walk around the friendly Local Village & the coral gardens. The coral gardens referred to as the rainforests of the sea are one of the most fascinating ecosystems on earth, sheltering nearly one million types of marine life. These are community development project tours inclusive and we request you to honor the pure Swahili culture and dress respectively for the guided depth oriented tour. We shall then settle down for a captivating barbeque seafood lunch with Swahili accompaniments. Time permitting after a short reflective fiesta; we board our dhow for the sea trip to the Shimoni jetty. Time permitting, we visit the Shimoni caves where slaves were ‘captured and kept” during the old slave trading days before shipment to the Zanzibar slave market. The capacity of the carriage takes a maximum of 30 pax on the dhow & drinks on board the dhow are included. Drinks at the restaurant are payable locally.
