Turtles
The park is well reputable for its population of turtles: green, Hawksbill, Loggerhead, Ridley and Leatherback.
Spotting of Dolphin and Whale
The Park provides sanctuary to over 200 dolphins (spinner, humpback and bottle-nosed), which can be sighted in groups of singles or groups of schools, above or below the waves. You may even be fortunate enough to see a humpback whale (October-December).Whale sharks meanwhile are often seen around the Mpunguti Islands.

Prisine; most spectacular on the Kenyan coast and well natured coral barrier reef runs along all the way from Shimoni in the South of Malindi in the North, without exceptional break, except at the mouth of rivers. The coral reefs referred to as the rainforests of the sea, are one of the most magnificent ecosystems on land, homing approximately one million types of marine life and more.
Seabirds
The tip of Kisite Island provides a rocky outcrop, which provides a habitat for seabirds abundantly on it’s sand arch horizon is flatland and lacks vegetation seen as a sand dune. Birds visible include: a breeding colony of roseate terns and nesting sooty terns.
Sanctuary to Snorklers and Divers
Pristine coral, spectacular in abundance kaleidoscopic marine life, warm shallow waters and above percentage in clarity, the Park and the Reserve provide a superb dive serenade for commencers and experts. The subtle clear waters, fascinating soft corals and marine life make this park one of the finest snorkeling venues in Africa, the most popular areas lying in the main coral garden toward the outer edge of the Kisite anchorage area.
Travelers’ advice: The best time to snorkel is two hours either side of low tide, when the greatest amount of marine life is revealed. Avoid standing on corals to skip on damaging the gardens
On accomodation:
The Park and Reserve does not hold any accomodation within the park alternatives in the nearby Shimoni with an inclusion of 7 economically priced Kenya Wildlife Service self-catering ‘Banda’s or chalets
